Unable to edit StandBy clock face color on iPhone 18 Pro running iOS 27

iPhone 18 Pro on iOS 27.0 is not allowing me to edit the color of the clock face when phone is charging and in StandBy mode. I am able to edit the picture screen in StandBy by long-pressing down, and I can change the widget screen in StandBy by long-pressing down. However, long-pressing down in the clock screen on StandBy does not trigger anything.

I have tried turning StandBy on and off again, it did not work. I have tried disabling FaceID and password so that I have access to permissions to edit StandBy mode, and I can only edit the picture screen and the widget screen. I have tried restarting my phone. Nothing has worked, and I think that it is a bug with iOS 27.

You’re not missing a Face ID or permission setting, so I’d turn your passcode and Face ID back on.

Apple’s current iOS 27 StandBy instructions only describe swiping up or down to switch clock styles; they don’t document the previous long-press color editing behavior. Other iOS 27 users are also seeing the clock view ignore a long press while the widget and photo views still edit normally. That points more toward an iOS 27 change or bug than anything wrong with your iPhone.

Since you’ve already restarted and toggled StandBy, I wouldn’t reset anything else just for this. I’d keep iOS updated and see whether Apple restores or fixes the clock editing behavior in a subsequent update.
