Device Management Enrolment

How to resolve Device Management enrollment. I have this macbook repair and was replace its new logic board.

iPhone 16 Plus, iOS 26

That “resolve” is ambiguous. If you sent in a MacBook Pro for repair….

  • …when unenrolled, and it came back unexpectedly enrolled, contact the repair provider.
  • …and it came back with a bogus serial number, contact the repair provider.
  • …when enrolled, and it somehow came back unenrolled, contact your IT and re-enroll it.

If it was an official authorized Apple repair, then the serial number on the replacement board will be configured during the authorized repair. Otherwise, there is nothing you can do since I believe these days all MDM enrollments require the laptop to in the Business Manager system (not sure of the exact name, but you should get the general idea) which can only be done with official purchases through Apple authorized vendors.


After all, all MDM managed devices will need to call home to Apple so that any managed system can be locked down again just in case someone erases the system.

Good catch. I hadn't considered the reverse scenario.
