IMEI number on purchase receipt

A purchase receipt may not always include the device’s IMEI number. This is generally because the IMEI is a unique identifier associated with the cellular device, and retailers may avoid printing or displaying it unnecessarily to reduce the risk of misuse or unauthorized disclosure.

In many cases, the serial number of the device is printed on the purchase invoice or receipt instead. The serial number is sufficient to identify the particular device for many warranty, service, and ownership-related purposes.

If you need to find the IMEI number of your iPhone, you can check it through your Apple Account:

1. Go to account.apple.com and sign in using your Apple Account credentials.
2. Select Devices.
3. Select the iPhone you want to check.
4. The device information will display both the Serial Number and the IMEI number, along with other relevant device details.

You can also find the IMEI directly on the iPhone by going to Settings → General → About. This is often the quickest way to verify the IMEI of the device currently in your possession.

Therefore, the absence of an IMEI number from the purchase receipt does not, by itself, indicate a problem with the invoice or the device. The serial number on the invoice, together with the device information associated with your Apple Account, can be used to establish the identity of the device.

If you buy from an Apple store then the IMEI number will be on the Invoice which you should have received via email.
