I created a smart group in Contacts selecting all contacts not part of a specific group, but get unexpected results. The smart group returns only 7 of my contacts. There should be hundereds.
Is there a limit to the number of contacts Contacts can handle?

Apple Contacts does not have a hard limit that prevents smart groups from handling hundreds of contacts(iCloud supports up to 50,000 total contact cards)
Check your account scope: Apple Contacts may be splitting your search across multiple accounts (e.g., iCloud, Google, Exchange, On My Mac).
