Wold like some monitor suggestions for my "soon-to-have" M6 mini (24gb, 256gb). NO WAY am I spending 2K...or even $500 for a monitor. knowing my budget, somewhat, any suggestions? The heaviest use will be iMovie and photo editing. Web and minimal stuff as well. Monitors with cameras seem top push up the price a lot...what should I look at?

I paid $400 for the 4K Samsung 37” ViewFinity S8 (S80UD). It was on sale at the time. For me it is a very good monitor. Your needs may be different.
LG 27US550-W is limited to 60Hz refresh rate. Its
interfaces are barely adequate to run at that rate.
• HDMI 2.0 only supports 4K at 50 Hz without limiting the color mode.
• DisplayPort 1.4, when driven by a USB-3 port using an ordinary adapter, can only attain HBR2 speeds for 4K at 60 Hz without using Display Stream Compression.
For a Mac like yours with USB-4 ports, and an advanced DisplayPort adapter, other displays could run at HBR3 speeds up 75 Hz, higher with Display Stream Compression
