Restore Downloads folder in upload menu on MacBook Air

Somehow I've deleted my "downloads folder" from my "upload" menu, for when i'm uploading my resume online. I have a MacBook Air. How do I restore that?

You don't need to do a system restore. Open a Finder Window, the litte blue face on your dock at the bottom. Then from there click on the Finder Menu at the top left corner, then on Settings or Preferences and then on Side Bar and then make sure Downloads is checked there.

Not sure what you are referring to as your "upload" menu.

Are you uploading your resume through a web browser in a website?

If so, the file window would just be a generic Finder window, and if you removed the Downloads folder from the side bar, you can put it back by going to the Finder Menu ➜ Settings ➜ Side Bar ➜ Downloads and make sure it is checked.

Otherwise, you would need to clarify where you see this upload menu exactly. If its inside a specific app, then which app that is.

Yes. When online on a job site through safari, when I click to upload my resume and the box appears, it used to automatically show my downloads folder. somehow I clicked away from it and now it's no longer there. it only shows "documents, shared, my Mac, etc", which clicking on any of them, never brings my downloads folder back up. Then I have gone through all of my settings & preferences and can't seem to find downloads anywhere to click on it to include it again. I just don't understand how I have completely messed up with a click. Ugh! I've had this Mac for over 8 years, and now wondering if I can do a system restore to a point just a couple weeks ago before I messed it up.

I just did what you suggested. I also took it one step further since I didn't already know that step. I will go see what happens.
