Imac cannot find the Canon ts3722 scanner. It can print. But cannot scan.

I have a canon ts3722 all-in-one printer/scanner. I cannot get my iMac to find the scanner. I can print successfully using AirPrint. But i cannot use the scanner. Nothing on Canon's website is of any use trying to solve this problem.

Canon Support – PIXMA TS3722

Under Software & Driver Downloads for macOS Tahoe v26 – the version that your tag line indicates that you are running, there is a "Recommended" application called "IJ Scan Utility Lite Ver.4.2.1 (Mac)", dated 9/13/2026.

According to Canon's description,

"IJ Scan Utility Lite is the application software which enables you to scan photos and documents using AirPrint. You can easily scan such items simply by clicking the icon you want to choose in the main screen of IJ Scan Utility Lite."

Canon Knowledge Base – Where are the Mac Drivers for my Printer / Scanner? (CanoScan / PIXMA / MAXIFY)

"The products below use AirPrint technology for printing and scanning. This means that you do not have to download a printer driver or a scanner driver. Connect the printer to your Mac via USB or on a network (for models that support network connections) and you can add your printer to the printer list on your Mac. You will also be able to scan (for models that support scanning) via Image Capture or IJ Scan Utility Lite, which is included in the full software packages available for download."

The TS3722 is one of the products listed.

Thanks. I had already installed that software. I double checked to make sure it is the same exact version you specified. I run the software and it comes up with an error message saying it cannot find a scanner. The canon printer software wouldn't detect the printer either. I had to add the printer by specifying the IP address and the AirPrint protocol.

Imac cannot find the Canon ts3722 scanner. It can print. But cannot scan.
