iPhone YouTube video stops when Notification Center is opened

Hello,

I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 27.0.1 and have been experiencing a frustrating issue with the YouTube app that did not happen on iOS 26.

Whenever I am actively watching a video in the YouTube app and swipe down from the top-left corner (Or middle) of the screen to open the Notification Center, the video completely stops playing.

Additional details about the bug:

Previous Behavior (iOS 26): Opening the Notification Center would overlay my notifications, but the YouTube video's audio/playback would continue normally in the background.
Current Behavior (iOS 27.0.1): The second the Notification Center layer is pulled down, the video immediately pauses/terminates.

Already updated Youtube App to the latest version.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue ? Please let me know if there is a fix, or if this is the new standard for iOS.

I have been having the same issue, but it’s not just Youtube, it has been happening on every streaming platform for me. Really hope it gets fixed soon.
