Continuity issues with iPhone 17 Pro Max and Mac mini M5 pro

I have 2 issues:

Using iPhone Continuity with my Mac mini (does not work) - I have an iPhone Pro 17 max and a Mac mini M5 pro, both are on Golden Gate.

Making calls on my Mac mini using the iPhone (just says not connected nor on same network)

Despite both devices being on the same wifi network (I have checked this) and Bluetooth being enabled, my iPhone can see the mini but then just refuses to connect to it and the Mini cannot see the iPhone (but can see mouse, keyboard, 2nd monitor.)

I have read every apple help document (no use), rebooted both devices, rebooted both devices simultaneously. Turned Bluetooth on and off. I have read various forum comments and nothing there works either. I am not sure what else to do and I really do not want to have to buy a camera.

You're welcome.

Another thing that might be causing your wireless connection issue, is wireless interference from poorly shielded USB and Display cables that are plugged into the Mac mini.

The Mac mini's wireless antenna is built in to the bottom cover, which makes it a prime candidate for this type of interference. Beside rerouting and replacing poorly shielded cables, many folks have found that standing the Mac mini on its side with the bottom facing the wi-fi router and/or bluetooth devices helped overall reception.
