Logic, weird volume surges whilst using volume automation.

macbook pro 2021 M1 Pro 32gb memory running Monterey.

I have been using logic since the dark ages and I’ve never ever encountered anything like this.

I work with logic daily and earn my living with it.

Today on more than one project, on certain tracks where there is and automated volume fade there are random volume surges and cut outs making the fade sound weird and unusual.

I’ve tried bouncing the track in place and trying again but the same thing happens. I’ve tried freezing, no good. I’ve tried sending the track to an aux and doing the volume automation from there, same problem.

there is no “region automation” and I’ve unchecked the “region automation takes priority over track automation” setting.

the only workaround I’ve found is to remove the track automation altogether and do the fade out using the region editor in the inspector. But it takes ages and is clumsy.

I’d like to get to the bottom of it. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this?
