iPhone 12 won't turn on after water damage

So um, I have an iPhone 12 and the other day it fell in the toilet while I was doing my makeup and it flashed a glitchy screen and a couple different colors. It also has been broken before and has cracks on the back of it. I tried drying it and putting it in rice but it still won’t turn on. Is it repairable, before I spend money fixing it??? :(

As long as you don't want Apple to ever provide any service on your phone in the future. Your mileage may vary on whether you will get the service you need to fix the problem, probably not. The repair cost to replace the back glass and logic board alone is likely to be close to that of new phone, and that is your choice on how you want to spend your money.

You could, but the shop would not have access to genuine Apple parts. The cost of repairs will likely frighten you.

But, don't do anything about repairs unless you have a written 90 day money back guarantee from the shop.

Let us know if the shop will agree to this. I bet they won't....for good reason.

Our advice......the money spent on a repair that will fail would be much better spent on a new phone.

It is not repairable after water damage, however, if you have purchased AppleCare+ a replacement would be available for a small repair fee.

As it is a 6 year old device unless you have AppleCare+ you would be better off investing in a new iPhone such as the entry level iPhone 17e - Apple, which is the entry level iPhone, but is still about 100 times more powerful than an iPhone 12.

Sure. Take it to anyone you want. Apple won't touch it. And some iFixit type shop will be happy to take your money and try to repair the phone, which they most assuredly can't do, so you'll be out good money and likely still have a destroyed iPhone. If you want to throw your money away, it's your money to throw.
