Perhaps odd question, but not sure if I’m risking my yet-to-receive-18 pro max on a case that wasn’t marked for it.
I didn’t know it was thing but some business claim to sell cases packaged and marked for the iPhone 16/17 pro max that will fit the 18 pro max, but like is the recent and last 2 models the same in everything (layout, dimensions, button placement, etc.)?
If you want to be sure whatever case you want to use with the iPhone 18 Pro Max, then you should get one from a reputable source, like Apple. Even Apple cases designed to work with other iPhone models, do not guarantee that they will work with the iPhone 18.
One source would be to review the Apple Specifications site to compare the three phones you mentioned respective dimensions. However, dimension alone does not take into affect different camera lens placement.
The bottom line? If you plan on purchasing a case from a third-party based on what they have the cases marked as, make sure you fully understand their return policy should the case not fit properly.
