Microsoft Word and the macBook

I am planning to buy a new macBook, and I am wondering if the macBook is ready to have me install Microsoft Word. I own MS Word and want to know if I can load it into my new macBook as it comes new in a box, or do I have to have Windows already installed in the new macBook before I can install MS Word?

If it's a Windows version of Word and neither CrossOver Mac nor WineBottler will handle it, yes. Otherwise, no.

Hi: LenC47

There are actually two solutions to your question. First, if you already own the Microsoft version of Word to be able to use Microsoft version of Word on a Mac you have to use one of the following software programs: (1) Bootcamp (already comes with the new Macs), (2) Parallels, or (3) VmWare Fusion. In addition, you have to buy Microsoft Windows (7) platform to be able to use the Microsoft version of Word.

Second, If you don't feel like doing the above you can buy the Mac version of Microsoft Word that is compatible with a Mac. I have it and I have never experienced any freezing or slowness on my computer. It looks a bit different from the Microsoft version of Word, but it works just the same.
