No iPhone case or wallets will have any intentional RF shielding.

Any shielding would interfere with all radio elements of the iPhone - including Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC (Newr Field Communication), UWB (UltraWideBand), GNSS (i.e. GPS etc.) and Satellite.

In summary, the iPhone's primary communications functionality would, at best, be impaired.

Try it.

The FineWoven case I wore out — very nearly wore through — didn’t appear to have any RF-related shielding layer.

iPhone Apple Pay NFC would also suggest no shielding would be used in Apple cases too, unless that feature is listed.

Some RFID readers are, however, very short range, and very low power.

Look up the specs for the particular card and reader, and check the specified distances.
