Magic Trackpad loses Bluetooth connection and tracking on M5 Mac Studio Max

Mac Studio M5 Max - Base model. Magic Trackpad - final Lightning model.

I'm experiencing connectivity and functionality issues with my pre-Oct 2024 Magic Trackpad and my new M5 Mac Studio Max. It's lost bluetooth connection several times and less than consistent tracking when using it. MS Max is obviously new. The trackpad is not old but it predates the USB-C model by 6 months. I had used it without issues on a MBP 2019 Intel machine and never had problems. I haven't had time to add new apps so I'm running the same software (sans macOS27) I used in my Intel machine. I know there should not be problems with any Apple trackpad but here I am.....I've even turned off some of the trackpad's functionality to test it but to no avail. I have small hands so I've never been a huge fan but this has added a new level of annoyance.

I read there should be no problems with the Magic Trackpad, yet here I am...

Any ideas for solutions?

This sounds a lot like a wireless interference issue between the Mac Studio and the Trackpad.

If you have any poorly shielded USB cables, devices (including a display and cables) near the Trackpad or in-between the Trackpad and the Mac Studio...? Try moving those cables, devices and/or display away from or in-between the Mac Studio and the Trackpad.
