System data enormous amount of storage
System Data is taking up an enormous amount of storage — even after a complete restore
Hi everyone,
I’m desperate to find a solution to an extremely frustrating storage issue on my iPhone.
My iPhone is showing an enormous amount of storage being used by System Data (around 81 GB). I have already tried the usual recommendations, but nothing has worked.
Here is what I have done:
- Restarted the iPhone multiple times.
- Checked the storage information and waited for it to finish calculating.
- Deleted unnecessary files and apps.
- Made a complete backup of my iPhone to my MacBook.
- Completely erased the iPhone (Erase All Content and Settings).
- Set it up again and restored the backup from my MacBook.
Unfortunately, after doing all of this, the problem came back and System Data is still taking up an enormous amount of space.
At this point, I don’t understand what could be causing this. If the iPhone was completely erased and then restored from a backup, why would System Data remain so large?
I really need to recover this storage space because it is severely limiting the available storage on my iPhone.
What is the correct way to completely clear or rebuild System Data without having it come back after restoring the backup?
Has anyone experienced System Data taking up 80+ GB and actually managed to fix it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have already tried the standard solutions, including a complete erase and restore, so I’m looking for a solution beyond the usual “restart your iPhone” or “free up some storage” recommendations.
Thank you!
