I updated my iPhone Air to iOS 27, and now when connected to CarPlay (26 Subaru Crosstrek) my iPhone no longer screens calls. I'm getting buried in spam calls on the road. HELP!!!

If Call Screening works normally when your iPhone is not connected to CarPlay, this generally indicates that the iPhone itself is functioning properly and that the issue may be related to the CarPlay connection or the vehicle’s infotainment system.
If this is your personal vehicle, make sure that all your contacts are properly synced with the car’s infotainment system and that CarPlay has the necessary access to your Contacts. This is particularly important for Call Screening, as the system may need to identify incoming callers correctly before it can handle or screen calls effectively.
You can also try disconnecting and reconnecting CarPlay, restarting both the iPhone and the vehicle’s infotainment system, and checking that the car’s firmware is up to date. If the problem occurs only while using CarPlay, contact the vehicle manufacturer or infotainment-system provider for further assistance, as the issue may be related to CarPlay integration rather than the iPhone itself.

If CarPlay doesn't detect your iPhone, make sure CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions are turned on, tap Allowed Apps and make sure CarPlay is enabled. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, and then tap Forget This Car.

Before taking your car to a dealer, it's always a good idea to check the manuals first. This can sometimes save you time and money if it's a simple fix you can handle yourself. However, if the manuals don't offer a solution, or you're uncomfortable tinkering with the system, then a car audio specialist is the way to go.

Most cars today are designed to support either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay at a time, not both simultaneously. This limitation comes from how the infotainment system establishes a connection: it prioritizes one protocol (Android Auto or CarPlay) depending on the connected device.
Here’s how it typically works:
A few premium or newer infotainment systems are starting to experiment with multi-device support, but it’s rare. For most drivers, the practical solution is:
