Check your list of contacts. Is somebody missing?

As described in Get a recovery code for a friend or family member as their Apple Account recovery contact - Apple Support

1. Go to Settings

2. Select Password & Security

3. Select Account Recovery or Recovery Assistance

4. view a list of recovery contacts

Phishing and scams are very common and play on pretending to be messages from Apple. Read this article about identifying real App Store and iTunes Store emails --> Identify legitimate emails from the App Store or iTunes Store - Apple Support Typically they will include a link to take you to "Apple" (but really to a fake page) where you need to sign in etc.
