Missing security codes for Wallet cards after iPhone upgrade

I just upgraded my iPhone to an 18. After letting everything transfer phone-to-phone, when I opened the new phone I got messages to re-enter security codes from my Wallet! Several of those cards were digital gift cards, or settlement cards I got with a letter in which the 3-digit security code was printed. I've long ago tossed those. Am I hosed, or is there a way to regain access to those cards?

Hi, as a security measure, card issuers require the security code be re-entered when transferring data from one device to another. The actual card details are never stored on your device. This is required to verify and activate the Apple Pay token by your bank. This process has been in place for 10 years or more.

I’m happy to answer any additional questions you have.
