App store install option -side bar approval action has disappeared. Anyone know what happened or what the fix is? The app is now requesting a password to email when I request to download a new app and not accepting that password. ( yes I checked and it is the right password.

Did you already check your settings for iTunes & AppStore in Settings -> FaceID & Passcode -> User Face ID For -> iTunes & AppStore?
If this is not enabled, you will be asked for your password.
Also make sure that in the settings for Screen Time -> Restrictions -> Content & Privacy Restrictions -> App Installation & Purchases -> Require Password is not enabled.
