Unable to use old id

Can you give us more details? Apple ID is now called Apple Account.

In case this is about the forgotten Apple Account Email address you have used, try these steps:

On your iPhone, open Settings -> Your Name -> Sign in & Security -> have a look at all the registered Email and phone numbers.

Your Primary Email address is also shown beneath your name in Settings -> Your Name -> Apple Account.

By "not taking" I am assuming you mean you have forgotten the ID. Typically an Apple ID is an email address you have used. If you are currently using a mobile device that is logged into your account, go to Settings and tap your name at the top.

Look in the Passwords application (or Keychain), and in a browser's security settings if you use it to automatically sign into Apple when using a browser.
