my mouse (standard mouse that comes witb imac) has disconnected from my imac and wont reconnect. my keyboard is able to connect swiftly but i cannot manage to reconnect my mouse. ive plugged in the mouse into the imac over night and once i take the cord out it automatically disconnects.

Is your Magic Mouse already connected to another Mac?
If the mouse disconnects, can you see it in the settings for Bluetooth on your Mac?
How old is your Magic Mouse? Could also be, that the battery is defective and not holding a charge anymore.

What happens if you click on it in the Bluetooth settings, to connect it?
Did you try to remove it from that list and pair it again?
Sorry, but as long as you can't connect another mouse, an USB cable connected mouse would work as well, you can't rule out that the mouse has a hardware issue.
I dont have another mac that the mouse could connect to, i can see it on bluetooth in settings. Ive had it for about two years.
I cannot click on it as i dont have another mouse.
