Apple Pages window appears behind the Dock on M4 iMac

Using an M4 iMac running Golden Gate v27.0.1

When I launch Apple Pages v15.4 the bottom of its window is always behind the dock. I have to move it every time I use it.

Is there a way to fix it centrally on the screen?

The Pages application will remember its last window position after its document window is closed and the application has quit. That is my experience with Pages v15.4 on macOS Tahoe 27.0.1. On my 32-in LG display, Pages will always open the document just slightly right of center screen with a considerable margin between it and the (hidden) Dock location.

I am not using the Settings > Desktop & Dock > Stage Manager. I also have my Dock configured to automatically hide when not in use. That setting is also on the mentioned Settings panel.

I've tried all sorts of different things to try and cure the problem but reading your reply prompted me to try something else.

I opened Pages and dragged the window above the dock then, instead of using the red button to close it, I quit it from the drop down menu. Next time I opened it the window was above the dock! Trying it the other way and just hitting the red button until I next needed it resulted in the window behind the dock again.

The moral to this issue is to always Quit the app and not use the red button which just closes the window.

I assume this is the way it is intended?

Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.
