Tell my Mac to sleep?

I'm a little new to Automator. I'd like my Mac to go to Sleep or shut down after the actions are complete. I can't seem to find these functions in the library list. Can it be done?

Use an AppleScript action to send the command to System Events.

Putting your Mac to sleep, waking up ,Shutting down ,restarting Automatically ! ,is done in ENERGY SAVER ,however most users do not know that there programs made by Apple that are automatically working in the background and cleaning up after the user this can take time ,even a few days and your computer will overide this. Even when your see power is off the computer is working unless you take out the clock battery, power battery and memory then reset the S or P M U your Mac is dead the memory and Clock Battery keeps the events.
