Apple Watch won’t update and now refuses to reconnect with Iphone

I tried to update my Apple Watch SE all day yesterday, but it just wouldn’t work. I hadn’t updated it in a while. So I guess that was the issue.

I tried disconnecting it from my IPhone 12, because I read that that might help. But it didn’t.

Now my watch refuses to connect to my IPhone, without the update, but still refuses to update. It stops during the verification process.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I can not use the watch anymore.

If the update consistently stops at verification, try this order:

Put the Watch on its charger and make sure it has 50%+ battery.
Restart both the Watch and iPhone, then try again on Wi-Fi.
Free up some storage on the Watch by removing unused apps/media.
If it still fails, erase the Watch and pair it again, choosing Set Up as New first, then install the update before restoring your backup.

That is exactly what I have already tried. I disconnected my watch before deleting all data, believing that happened through that, but now I can’t connect it again to delete the data, because it won’t connect without the update. I don’t have the option to set up as new
