Sorry, you can't: the Numbers app from Apple does not support named ranges like Microsoft Excel does.

A Numbers table is equivalent to a named range in Excel.
Excel sheets are "oceans" of cells, with small "Islands" of data here and there.
A Numbers sheet can hold several small tables, each with a purpose.
What are you trying to do?

Apple Numbers, A2:C4 is already the correct way to refer to a rectangular group of cells: it means everything from column A, row 2 through column C, row 4. You use it inside a formula, such as =Sum(A2:C4) which adds the value 3by3 from a2-c4
