Refund declined for unauthorized app subscription charges
Dear Apple Support, case ***
I am writing to formally complain about subscription charges that have been deducted from my PayPal account since March 2026 for an app that I did not knowingly subscribe to or authorize beyond the initial one-week free trial.
unfortunately I couldn’t find any valid email to file my complaint
I recently discovered that payments have been continuing to be deducted from my PayPal account since March. I have not used the app since the free trial, and I have confirmed from my own account that there has been zero usage since March 2026.
I immediately cancelled subscription and contacted Apple Support to request a refund. Unfortunately, my request was declined without any meaningful explanation. I then requested to speak with a senior advisor, hoping that the matter could be properly reviewed. However, I was told that the decision was final, without being provided with a clear explanation of the basis for the decision.
I was particularly disappointed that Apple refused to review my actual usage history which was zero usage of this app during those 6 months of subscription despite the fact that this would clearly demonstrate that I have not used the service since the free trial.
I find this extremely concerning. I did not knowingly authorise an ongoing subscription, have not used the service since the trial, and only recently became aware that payments had continued to be deducted.
I am therefore requesting:
A full review of the subscription and payment history from March 2026 onwards.
Verification of when and how the subscription was allegedly authorised.
A review of the app usage history demonstrating that the service has not been used since the free trial.
A full refund of the charges deducted since March 2026.
A clear explanation of why my original refund request was rejected and why the decision was marked as final without reviewing the relevant evidence.
I am extremely disappointed with the way this matter has been handled so far. From my perspective, continuing to charge a customer for a service they did not knowingly authorise and have not used, followed by refusing to properly investigate the circumstances, is unacceptable.
I would appreciate this matter being escalated to the appropriate complaints or customer relations team for proper review.
