Why does reinstalling OS X on Mac Pro not proceed after clicking 'Reinstall a new copy of OS X'?

when I startup my Mac Pro with power on and click

coomand+t or command+r I get recovery window which take me to the OS X Utilities if I CLICK reinstall a new copy of OS X , it is not to continue I Still have the same window OX X Utilities , I STOPPED .Not to continue .

Can you please help with that .

Installing a new copy of MacOS can only begin AFTER you have downloaded a new copy of MacOS. Obtaining the new copy of MacOS will take at least about 20 minutes download time, possibly longer, depending on the speed of your Internet connection. If you do not currently have an internet connection, the process can not possibly proceed.


do you have an error message on the screen?

what EXACTLY does it say?

What is the history here? A Mac new to you? An existing Mac that isn’t booting? Some other case?


Your footer shows MacBook Air 13”, though this question was posted in a forum usually used for a big desk-side pedestal Mac. Which Mac do you have? An Air? Or a Mac Pro? And for whichever Mac, which year?
