I got my headset connected via Bluetooth on my IPhone and it works fine for sound but for some reason it doesn’t use the headsets mic and it still uses the iPhone mic. The mic itself works fine in Xbox as an example but on my iPhone it only connects as headphones

While on a call you can switch the audio to a bluetooth device.
Swipe down on the call banner
Tap the Audio button, and choose the headset / mic.
