Steps not tracked accurately after last update on watch.

After the update to WatchOS 27, when I'm doing a workout for a walk or run, my steps are not being tracked accurately. If I don't start a workout for my walk, it tracks the steps correctly. Also, when I'm in a workout, it gives me inflated amount of active calories. Now it's like 1,000+ active calories for a 1 hour walk, when in the past it was about 350-450 active calories depending on speed. Steps I've already taken 1) Recalibrated my watch, making sure I did several walks and runs of 20+ minutes. 2) Have the most recent updates on both my watch and phone 3) Rebooted both watch and phone. What else can I try?

Check that Heart Rate is enabled under Watch app -> Privacy -> Health, and wear the Watch snugly during workouts.

If a 1-hour walk is suddenly showing 1,000+ active calories while your normal result is 350–450, that’s clearly abnormal. Check the recorded heart rate for that workout—if it is also unusually high, you may have found the cause.
