iPad screen dims automatically when not in use

After updating, my iPad dims when I am not looking at it. I have the M5 iPad with the 26.6.1 OS. I am an artist and I use my ipad for reference when I am working. It has become really annoying to have to tap the screen every time I need to look at it in order to get the brightness back up, especially if the ipad is further away from me or I am already using my hands. I also have bad vision so having the brightness at 100% is a necessity for me. I know it is to preserve battery life, and keep it from overheating, but is there anyway to turn this feature off? It is not in any of the “brightness” or battery life” tabs in settings. I already have auto-lock set to “never”, and auto-brightness is turned off in accessibility settings. How can I resolve this?
