Apple Watch 11 rings not updating in both fitness and phone fitness.

Is anyone else having trouble with adding a workout in health but only the exercise ring updates in Fitness? I have to go back to add workouts for when I play sports but it will not up date my excessive or stand rings. It does not update on both my Apple Watch series 11 and iPhone 12.

iPhone 12, iOS 26

Yes, this can happen if the workout is added manually in Health. Manually adding a workout should update the Activity rings, including Move and Exercise credit.

Try this:

  • Make sure Fitness Tracking is enabled: Health -> Profile ->Devices ->Apple Watch ->Privacy Settings.
  • Make sure Wrist Detection is ON.
  • Restart both the iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • Update iOS/watchOS to the latest versions.

For sports, ideally start the workout directly from the Workout app on the Watch rather than adding it afterward. This gives the Watch the sensor data needed for accurate activity tracking.
