Recommendation for a security app to replace MalwareBytes

Do not install any third party app that claims to protect, clean, manage, etc. The MacOS performs these functions very well. Third party apps may cause problems.

I am not aware of any replacement for Malwarebytes. It's a good and useful product. Difficulty with customer service? Hard to say what difficulty would cause me to abandon the product.

And as many others will advise, I do not recommend installing any third-party "antivirus" or "cleaner" app. Every such product we know about has caused headaches for uncountable numbers of users and some are no better than malware to begin with.

Why did you need customer service? Have you paid for it?

The free version is all you need . . . the only difference is that you have to initiate a scan whereas the paid version is working full time and probably wasting valuable resources.

You should continue using it (the free one!).
