I've have been testing different conditions and discover that this behavior might be related to saving the document on a folder shared or synchronized with Onedrive. In my workflow I use Onedrive as my repository of work documents in the final stages of development and archival. All files under this circumstances show this behavior when being edited in Pages. This didn't use to happen before the updates related to OS 27. I observed after manually saving the files and then whenever Pages made autosaves of the documents. So I now believe, something needs and update either OS 27 or Onedrive to fix whatever is broken. As a workaround I am now working may files entirely on the Pages folder in iCloud Drive and then copy it to Onedrive. Not the best solution but for now its working to avoid the annoying jumps to the first page.
After having a bad time working with Pages because this issue, I suspected that this happens every time the system saves my file. To test this, I disabled system-wide autosaving as I cannot do it only for pages. I confirmed that when I intentionally save my document, Pages automatically jumps to the first page (in fact twice, with a ~2-seconds lag). This is far from a solution but at least I decide when the jumps happen. Hopefully this helps someone in the meantime while this is resolved.
Have you assigned any Pages bookmarks including one that would jump to the first page of the document?
Otherwise, I have no Pages usage experience past or present (v15.4, 27.0.1) where Pages randomly jumps to the first page of the document.
Are you entering any keyboard shortcuts when Pages jumps to the beginning of the document?
Thank you for your time. No I am not using any keyboard shortcut. It feels random; I couldn't identify any trigger action. I erased and reinstalled the Pages app, with no luck on solving the problem. I started a new document pasting the data without format from the old document; and still keeps jumping to the beginning.
Do you have any other idea on how to solve it?
The same issue is happening to me and it is really difficult to even work when out of the sudden it jumps back to the first page. No it is not related to clicking by mistake any key or trackpad. It happens even when I'm just reading my document.
You got it right, it's annoying to work with documents on One Drive and skips to first page when u are in the middle of editing
