I just went from a 14 pro max to the 18 pro. In any low light photo, the amount of lens flare is very noticeable! Is anyone else seeing this? Any solutions? See the green spots - those are lens flare.
It depends. There's a semi-pro photographer on these forums who's talked about this a few times. In short, you can often eliminate the flare you see before taking the shot by simply tilting the phone a bit. He showed a night time shot of his deck that had various lights on it. One shot had quite a few flares, and the other, with the phone tilted all of 3 to 5 degrees, had none.
Different lens systems will produce different flares.
Flares are a completely unavoidable result of curved glass. You will get flare from the cheapest camera made to multi-thousand dollar pro gear.
The picture on the wall behind the candles is one I took with a thousand dollar lens. I can introduce or avoid flare with that (or any) lens. I can't avoid it at all with this. And it's way worse than the 14 pro max was. So any picture of the moon taken with a real camera is going to have flare?
