How to access keyboard and recording options in GarageBand on iPad

garageband on ipad. how to access keyboard and other options to play/record. just now have downloaded music so i have a library, but no way to input anything.

Your reply is a great refresher for my use of GarageBand in the iPhone. On the IPad the only keyboard I get is musical typing or cursor available keyboard. Have connected a USB piano with no results with sound or visual keyboard.
