How can I verify the serial number of found AirPods against my original box?

I reported my AirPods as lost or stolen one of my daughters random friends came over. It sent me alert, saying it found my earphones. I pushed the button to make the noise brought me to the other kids pack sack. Is there anyway possible that it’s her mom‘s earphones like she says or are they absolutely mine and I have my original box? How could I find out what serial number they have versus my serial number?

You can find the serial number of the AirPods on the device they are paired to, the charging case of the AirPods and the original packing.

If the AirPods and the case do not match, there should also be an error message shown:

If you get an alert that says 'Mismatched AirPods' or 'AirPods Mismatch' - Apple Support
