Where to find WhatsApp update task and control background tasks on Mac?

Mac just installed WhatsApp update but I can't find where is this task defined.

Nothing under General -> Login Items & Extensions. It's not under Open at Login nor Allow in the background

Can't find "Auto update" in the WhatsApp settings.

App Store says "Get" for WhatsApp so I must have installed it manually from the web, so no auto-update there either.

I like to control what's running on my computer since it's not the newest anymore and not have a bunch of background tasks i rarely need.
