Brother DCP-T420W Not Working After macOS 27 Update — Driver/Compatibility Issue

Ever since I updated my Mac to macOS 27, my Brother printer has stopped working. I checked the Brother website, but there doesn’t seem to be a driver available for macOS 27 yet.

Does anyone have any suggestions or a workaround to get it working?

Printer model: Brother DCP-T420W

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 27.0

some people who had problems with printing after 27

resolved it by installing rosetta 2 Rosetta 2 on a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support

if that is not the issue then I suppose your options comes down to

wait for brother to make it (maybe reach out to them if they plan on making a working driver at all)
check if project gutenberg support the model Gutenprint Supported Printers
get a new printer (if one gets one which support airprint then you need not worry about the manufacturer supporting it when updating About AirPrint - Apple Support)
