downloading e-books to iPad 7
I have an Ipad 7. Do i have to have the Kindle app in order to download a book from Amazon

For Kindle books, yes. You need the Kindle app.
PDF and (non-DRM) EPUB files can be loaded into Apple Books without an app, and books can be downloaded from the Apple Book Store.
