Thank you leonie for your interest.
I force quite Photos and then was able to migrate from iPhoto and am now trying to figure out the way my albums and projects are now sorted.
Since you asked...I have 2.31 TB of free storage; there was no error msg before the migration stopped at 34% and I waited over an hour; my internal drive iPhoto library in my Pictures folder has ~70,000 images mostly of birds and many are star-rated and thus I am very interested in upgrading to Golden Gate.
Tony, could you give us a bit more background information?
I take it, you started to migrate an iPhoto Library to Photos for Mac, right? And now there is no progress?
What exactly is happening? Is there any error message? Or is the status bar not showing any progress?
How long have you waited? And how large is the old iPhoto Library?
How much free storage is on your Mac?
Where is the iPhoto Library stored? Is it in your Pictures folder or is it on an external drive?
MacOS 10.14 Mojave is the last system version that is supporting the migration from iPhoto to Photos, so you are using the best system version to do this.
