Disgustingly Over-Charged for In-App Purchases?????

Hi! I have a problem that I've thought was just a fluke with certain apps, but now I've been forced to realize that it's apparently happening every single time I make an in-app purchase (save for maybe one time). I've since completely removed my card information from my phone completely because I don't trust this at all.

Yes, unfortunately I do realize after the fact that this may end up being the reason why nothing can be refunded and that my transaction history will be lost, but I don't want to risk anything anymore, I'm tired and done. This shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

Long story short, my last transaction was in Merge Dragons for $4.99 but then my bank statement and the notification on my phone when I made the purchase said that I was charged for $41.95.

If I wasn't worried that I'd be violating guidelines, this whole thing would be a whole lot angrier because I very purposefully chose the cheapest possible option and was charged around TEN TIMES THE AMOUNT?!?! LIKE- WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING RIGHT NOW????????

Has anyone else had this happen? Is this even possible to resolve or am I going to have to call my bank in the morning and dispute the charge? Because this is ridiculous and was never an issue when I still had my old phone. (I recently upgraded from an iPhone 7 to an iPhone 12 Pro because someone gifted it to me.)

I never expected this to be a problem. Mostly because, like I stated, it shouldn't be one.

Whatever. Advice? Solutions? Pity? Literally anything would be appreciated. Either way I'm calling the bank in the morning.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 26

I'll definitely add an update to this since I have no idea how to delete a post on here, but I'll reply to you first.

Long story short, I was mistaken. lmaooo

What happened was that for some reason apple had put every in-app charge I must have made since like mid-September into one big amount both in my apple wallet and in my bank information.

Not sure why, but the fact that the amount amount happened to be almost exactly 10 times more than the purchase amount was definitely a big reason why I thought that something was wrong.

My bad, dude. Thank you for replying though!

OH! Also, It did say that the in-app total was $4.99. but then I got the notification for $41.95 and panicked.

What you will be charged is on the approval screen that requires you to double click the side button, followed by authentication with Face ID/Touch ID. That is the UI provided by Apple and is what you will be billed for minus any local sales tax. If you chose an option in the game you were playing for $4.99 and on that approval screen, you see that you will be billed for $41.95, then of course you should not double click the side button to approve that charge.

No I have not seen where the charge is different on my billing statement then what I have agreed to on the Approval Screen.
