Log into the app store using your same Apple Account, and look in your account’s listing of previous purchases. If you had downloaded Pages before, you should find it and be able to find and redownload it from there.

Your 2017 MacBook Pro cannot run the required (Tahoe 26.*) operating system and that prevents installation of Pages v15.4 from the Mac App Store. If you never installed Pages on any Mac since Oct 2013, then you will need to consider another word processing solution¹.

Only if you personally installed a version of Pages from the Mac App Store since Oct 2013, are you able to get the last compatible version of Pages for the operating system presently installed.

  1. Launch the Mac App Store, signing in with the same Apple ID as you used previously to install Pages
  2. Press cmd+0 (zero) to open the Purchased panel
    1. If Pages is present, there will be an icon that you can click to get the last compatible version of it for your installed operating system.

¹ Alternatives are Microsoft Office web apps (free), LibreOffice Suite² (free), Softmaker's Office 2026³ (fee),

Apple's Pages for iCloud.

² LibreOffice 26.* requires macOS Big Sur (11.*) or later, though older versions are available for earlier macOS

³ SoftMaker Office 2026/NX is compatible with macOS Mojave (10.14) or later
