Anyone having success getting 26.6.2 (25G83) to use an external DVD? MBP 2019 16"
Drive not visible in finder, sysinfo shows no "disc burning device", balena can't find it, etc
External memstick and hard drive both work normally
The bus clearly sees the drive, reads its info, and goes off into the weeds

That kindasorta resembles a bad external disc drive, a bad USB cable or bad connection.
If the external disc drive has a removable USB cable, test a different cable.
Test that external disc drive plugged into a different computer.
Test a different Apple or Generic external disc drive.
An empty CD/DVD drive will not be visible in the Finder Sidebar.
Finder will only see a CD or DVD when it is inserted into the CD/DVD drive.
Check your Finder Setting > Sidebar to make sure CDs, DVDs and iOS Devices is checked.

What are you trying to burn on to that blank disc...?
Go to the Apple > Settings > CDs & DVDs and look at the settings for "When you insert a blank CD/DVD"
did you try a non-blank disc?
Random iso or music cd make no difference. I'm not surprised since this looks to be a problem with how the OS manages the bus
That dialog and its underlying setting are not available in Settings unless an optical drive is visible to the OS
One possibility from the endless string of usb entries is that it just keeps trying to add the drive, but fails, then never cleans up after itself.
Kindasorta like a process gets spawned and goes down a rabbithole while whatever spawned it doesn't notice/care then spawns another
