To fix the "not my AirPods" error and restore Find My tracking after connecting to a Windows laptop, you need to reset the AirPods and re-pair them cleanly with your iPhone.

Steps to Fix the Issue

  1. Forget the AirPods on All Devices
    • On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the (i) icon next to your AirPods, and select Forget This Device.
    • If they are linked to Find My on your Apple ID, remove them there or turn off Find My temporarily.
    • On your Windows laptop, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices, select your AirPods, and click Remove device.
  1. Reset Your AirPods
    • Put both AirPods into the charging case and close the lid for about 30 seconds.
    • Open the lid.
    • Press and hold the setup button (or double-tap the front of the case depending on your exact model) for about 15 seconds until the status light flashes amber and then flashes white.
