Dark spot on iPhone 16 Pro display

I have observed a small, semi-circular dark spot on the left edge of my iPhone 16 Pro display, adjacent to the volume button. This issue has been present for approximately two to three months. Initially, I assumed it could be resolved by replacing the screen protector; however, I now believe it is a defect in the primary display.

The device is covered under warranty until February 2026. I am uncertain how this could be attributed to a software glitch, as the area has not sustained any impact or drop damage. I would appreciate your guidance on whether leaving the issue unaddressed may lead to further complications. Please advise.

You are asking only other users for advice on what could be a hardware issue with the screen on your iPhone. We cannot diagnose a hardware issue. You also said your warranty is valid until February 2026? February 2026 was 7 months ago.

Either way, if you are concerned, you should schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar to have the phone tested --> Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

A perfect semi-circular spot on the edge of the display is unlikely to be a screen defect. it is far more likely to be a button of some description.

What happens when you press it?

The semi-circle button on the edge of your iPhone display is likely the AssistiveTouch feature, which provides an on-screen button for easier access to various functions. You can adjust its size and opacity in the accessibility settings if needed.
