iPhone 18 Pro accessibility reader automatically lowers volume

My accessibility reader lowers the volume automatically when it starts reading. I checked all the settings. On a positive note. It doesn’t skip anymore with car play. I have iPhone 18 pro 27.0.1 iOS

Hi there

Please try this

Open the Settings app.
Go to Accessibility > VoiceOver (or Read & Speak / Spoken Content depending on which exact reader tool you are actively using).
Select Audio.
Tap Audio Ducking and turn it Off (or change it from When Speaking).
