Cleaning out old and unused online accounts and passwords.

I have so many passwords to online accounts I have not used but once years ago. Some don't exist anymore and some have no way to delete your account on their site. sometimes they say they will send a code to access the account you want to delete but the code never shows up, even in my junk folder. Is it safe to just delete these accounts and their passwords on my computer?
