HomePod mini stuck on "configuring" for days now.

Last week my one of my HomePod Mini's decided to just stop working. I've reset it, restarted it, reset it back to factory settings, removed it, powered it off for 2 minutes, the whole 9 yards. It's been working great for YEARS and now it just sit in the Home app at "configuring......" for 5+ days now. Siri and AirPlay were working during this time but now anytime I ask it to play a radio station I just get "sorry, I cannot connect to Apple Music"

I've restart the network a dozen times. Nothing has changed in the settings. For whatever reason, this device has just decided to stop working correctly. Googling has resulted in suggestions ranging from "keep restarting everything until it works" to "don't do anything and eventually after a few months it'll start working again....maybe".

So, Apple. What's going on? Should I just take a hammer to this thing? My kids' Amazon Echo Dots have been working just great for a decade now. Maybe I should just get one of those.

Mine have done this, it should not be configuring for days. It can’t perform while configuring.

First start by rebooting your wifi, to eliminate that being an issue. Then try removing it from the home app. It may still be in your list of iCloud devices, so you need to also remove it from that. You can easily do this from your iPhone settings: In settings at the very top - Your Name - scroll to bottom to see what’s listed there signed into your iCloud account, if you see the HomePod tap the > beside it and Remove from Account in red. Then try setting it up again and hopefully it should configure but still may take until tomorrow
