Is ApolloOne the Successor to XNView for video clip management on the Mac?

I have been using XNView MP off and on for cataloguing and viewing large collections of video clips but yesterday I discovered that it did not like my 4K clips . . . it did not provide a thumbnail, just a generic folder icon and it more or less refused to play the clips, producing a black screen and outputting only the audio.

So I consulted my friend Gemini who informed me that XNView's innards were not really up to generating huge numbers of 4K thumbnails etc. and that there was a better free alternative which leverages Apple's fast hardware video engine.

ApolloOne is built natively for the Mac and Apple Silicon and has an attractive Mac style UI which can be customised. It's widely regarded as the fastest image and video browser for the Mac.

I downloaded it from the App Store less than 24 hours ago but in that time it has completely won me over so if you use such items I suggest you give it try.
